TEACHING POSITION

Permanent Full Time - to commence Term 1 2024

Yattalunga Valley Christian School, situated on the NSW Central Coast, is an exciting educational setting for K-4 students on the Autism Spectrum. We are seeking to appoint an additional experienced Christian educational leader with a passion for working with families as we educate these amazing students.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Teaching component;

- Working collaboratively with Allied Health professionals and families in the education of students;
- Assessing each student’s individual abilities and identifying any barriers to learning;
- Using the collaborative planning process to develop Individual Education Plans for all students;
- Planning, organising, and implementing programs within a developmental framework.

Requisite Skills:

- Deep understanding of Christian education and able to articulate how this culture can be evidenced in the lives of staff and students;
- At least two years’ experience in working with students and families within a special needs setting;
- Achievement of, or enrolment in, post graduate qualifications such as Masters’ degree in either inclusive/special education, education or leadership;
- Demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions and adjustments to assist all students in their education journey;
- Experience reviewing policies and procedures and understanding of how to move these from documents to practice;
- Demonstrated commitment to child safety and understanding of reporting obligations;
- Proven understanding of the collaborative nature of Individual Education Plans and experience in the formation of individualised programs;
- Proven ability to maintain regular and effective verbal and written communication with families, teaching staff and other community partners;
- Proven experience in speaking at and organising parent information evenings, enrolment processes and building community through parent engagement;
- Ability and experience in working collaboratively to resource projects on time and within a budget;
- NSW Working With Children Check clearance for paid employment.

The successful applicant for the above position must be committed Christians and be prepared to work under the ethos of our school and in regular fellowship and involvement at an Evangelical Church.
